Psycare UK is a charity that offers psychological support and welfare services to those who have had a traumatic experience after taking drugs/substances and provides a safe environment where people can overcome their drug-related difficulties while being educated on safer usage.

Amanda has worked with Psycare for 10 years starting as a volunteer and now acting as a trustee and senior manager of the charity. As someone who has a passion for the dancefloor having been to many dance events before, she wants to help people understand the risks associated with drug use and be a friendly, approachable face that people can come to for help and advice.

I spoke to her more about what services the charity offers and education on safety when thinking about experimenting with drugs.

Why is it so important to educate people on the safer usage of drugs rather than criminalising them for it?

Was it hard for your charity to get a license at festivals?

In your experiences, have you seen an increase in the amount of people using ketamine rather than MDMA?

Why is your charity beneficial to those who have had traumatic experiences with drugs?

What legislations would you like to see happen for drug use?
